Revelation is where the case reaches its conclusion, because Revelation is where we are shown what heaven actually does. Twice in this book John falls at the feet of an angel to worship, and twice the angel stops him cold: Do not do that. Worship God. Angels do not accept worship. Apostles do not accept worship.
The Lamb does. In chapter five, every creature in heaven, on earth, under the earth, and in the sea offers identical worship to the One on the throne and to the Lamb — and no one objects. The title Alpha and Omega, spoken by the Lord God Almighty in chapter one, is spoken by Jesus in chapter twenty-two. This post examines four passages.
