The absence of sound apologetics in many congregations has left believers ill-equipped to stand firm when their faith is challenged. Without a reasoned, historically grounded, and scripturally rooted defense of the Christian faith, many Christians do not know what they believe — or why they believe it.
At Value My Soul, we exist to confront this crisis head-on. Our purpose is to dismantle the misconceptions, half-truths, and outright falsehoods that have been used to undermine the Christian faith. We are committed to equipping believers to clearly and confidently articulate the foundation of what they believe, grounding every conversation in both Scripture and sound historical evidence. Beyond that, we seek to familiarize Christians with the wide landscape of competing theologies, ideologies, and worldviews — not to intimidate, but to prepare. Kingdom Over Culture
Everything we believe, think, and do flows from God's revealed Word — a Word that is authoritative, wholly adequate, and perfect in every respect. At Value My Soul Ministries, we hold without reservation that the Bible is the final authority on all matters of faith and practice within the Christian church and in everyday life. It is not a book reserved for scholars or clergy alone; it is the living Word of God, written for people of every age, background, and season of life.
In the area of prayer, we choose obedience over personal preference. We do not approach prayer merely as a last resort or a defensive posture in times of crisis—we approach it as an offensive weapon, a proactive and powerful instrument through which God's purposes are advanced, and His Kingdom is made manifest. We do not position ourselves as the originators or directors of spiritual movement; that role belongs entirely to the Holy Spirit. Our responsibility is to cultivate discernment and follow His leading with unwavering devotion. It is this Spirit-led obedience that produces the fruit of genuine, lasting transformation — the kind of change that God intends for every believer.
The Christian life is, at its core, a life of sacrifice. It is a daily decision to place God above all else — above comfort, convenience, personal ambition, and cultural expectation. We deny ourselves so that we may truly live for Him. Our lives are meant to be a continual act of worship and praise, characterized by complete dependence on the Lord through prayer as our natural and heartfelt response to the immeasurable love He has shown us. Worship and prayer are not additions to the life of the church — they are the very lifeblood of it. The church cannot be fully what God intends it to be apart from a people who pray and a people who worship.
Foundational Beliefs
Belief is one of the most powerful forces available to the human spirit, particularly in the midst of adversity. When circumstances are difficult, and the road ahead is uncertain, it is belief that keeps your vision intact and your resolve unshaken. Hardship, rather than breaking you, becomes the very forge through which your strength is developed and refined. This is not the strength born of human willpower or determination alone — it is the strength that flows from a deeply rooted trust in God, a confident surrender to His plan, and a firm conviction that His will is always good, even when it is not immediately understood.
God
We believe in one triune God — the eternal Creator of heaven and earth — who has no beginning and no end, who exists outside of time, and who dwells in perfect unity as three distinct and co-equal Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He is not a God who merely possesses good qualities; He is the very definition and source of holiness, justice, mercy, and love. His faithfulness does not waver, His character does not change, and His purposes cannot be thwarted.
God is entirely and unquestionably sovereign over all creation. He holds complete and perfect knowledge of all things — past, present, and future — and searches the depths of every human heart. Nothing is hidden from Him, and nothing occurs outside of His ultimate authority. He governs all things according to the counsel of His own will, working out His divine purposes in the lives of individuals, nations, and all of creation.
Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the divine and eternal Son of God — fully God and fully man — possessing the same power, authority, and glory as God the Father. He did not merely represent God; He is God, clothed in human flesh, who stepped into history for the sake of humanity's redemption.
During His earthly life, Jesus lived in complete moral perfection. He faced every temptation known to humanity, yet remained entirely without sin — making Him the only One qualified to stand in our place. In an act of supreme love and voluntary surrender, He offered Himself as the spotless, unblemished sacrifice to atone for the sins of all mankind, bearing the full weight of God's righteous judgment as He died upon the cross.
But death could not hold Him. After three days in the grave, Christ rose bodily and triumphantly, declaring His absolute dominion over sin, death, and the grave. His resurrection is not a symbol — it is a historical reality and the cornerstone of the Christian faith. He now reigns in the majesty of heaven, seated at the right hand of the Father, interceding on behalf of His people. Yet His story on earth is not finished. He will return — visibly, powerfully, and unmistakably — to reveal to all the world that He is, and has always been, the one true King, Lord, and God over all creation.
Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the triune God, fully divine and fully active in the world today. He is responsible for convicting the world of sin, of righteousness, and of the coming judgment — drawing men and women to an awareness of their need for a Savior and illuminating the truth of the Gospel.
For every person who repents of their sin and places their trust in Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit takes up permanent residence within them. He is not a temporary visitor or an occasional influence — He is a permanent presence, the seal and living guarantee of our redemption and eternal inheritance in God. Through His indwelling power, Christians are equipped to live lives of faithfulness, obedience, and growing Christlikeness. Without the Holy Spirit, the Christian life cannot be lived as God intends. With Him, nothing is impossible.
The Bible
We believe that the entirety of Scripture — both the Old and New Testaments — is of divine origin, breathed out by God and written by human authors who were carried along under the guidance and superintendence of the Holy Spirit. The Bible is not merely a collection of ancient religious writings; it is the very Word of the living God, communicated to humanity with clarity, authority, and purpose.
The Scriptures represent the most comprehensive and reliable revelation of God's character, His redemptive purposes, and His will for human salvation — told through the unfolding historical narrative of the nation of Israel and brought to its ultimate fulfillment in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. As such, the Bible stands as the supreme and authoritative standard for every dimension of Christian belief and practice.
In their original manuscripts, the Scriptures are without error and without the possibility of failure in accomplishing their intended purpose. They are unequivocally genuine, historically reliable, and spiritually transformative. They are the authoritative guide for every aspect of the Christian's relationship with God, with one another, and with the created world. To know the Bible is to know the God who authored it.
Salvation
We believe that salvation is the gracious gift of God alone — it cannot be earned, achieved, or merited through human effort, moral performance, or religious observance of any kind. It is received solely by grace, through faith, in Jesus Christ alone.
Jesus Christ bore the full penalty for our sins through His death on the cross. His suffering was not incidental — it was intentional, substitutionary, and sufficient. On the third day, He rose from the dead, vindicating His sacrifice and securing eternal life for all who believe. Through His atoning work, Christ has fully reconciled sinners to God the Father — restoring what sin destroyed and opening the way to eternal fellowship with God. This reconciliation is permanent and irrevocable. It cannot be undone, taken away, or lost. Those who place their trust in Jesus Christ are held eternally secure in the love and faithfulness of God.
